Whilst the 1st of January is technically just another day, for many of us, it signals new beginnings and the start of working towards the dreams and goals we want to achieve over the next 12 months.
If you’re a small business owner, 2025 was probably a challenging year. It certainly was for me. There have been many times when I’ve longed for the security of a paid role where money in the bank at the end of the month was guaranteed. The changes AI has brought in the way a lot of businesses work meant my freelance work dried up overnight, forcing me to pivot.
The second half of the year has felt like I’ve gone back to the beginning, and there have been times when I’ve felt like I haven’t had a business at all. It’s taken time to create new foundations and build relationships with potential new clients. I’ve also spent a lot of time thinking about the business I want to create and the direction I want to go in.
So, my end-of-year review hasn’t been about success in the way many businesses measure it.
I’ve measured this year’s success in making it to the end in one piece. Being able to take my youngest daughter to school every day and support and coax her to get through the door. At times, that has been incredibly hard. And whilst the change in direction for my business hasn’t brought in success (yet!) in a financial sense, being able to devote time to her when she needs it most has been priceless.
As we move into a new year, whatever that looks like for your business, I wanted to share with you some of the best business freebies I’ve come across created by some brilliant founders that have helped me take one tiny step forward with my business.
Enjoy!
Time-saving tech checklist
I don’t know about you, but most of the time, tech is not my friend. I can spend hours trying to figure something out, getting more and more annoyed with myself for not being able to work out how to add something to a funnel, or the backend of my website.
